PRIVACY POLICY — MOMENTUM Electric Marine

This privacy policy applies to the Momentum and Momentum SVC mobile apps (together, "the App") for Android and iOS, published by Momentum Electric Marine ("we", "us"). It explains what information the App uses, why, and what happens to it.
In short: the App does not require an account, does not collect analytics, shows no advertising, and does not send your data to our servers. Everything the App records stays on your phone unless you choose to share it.
1. INFORMATION THE APP USES
Location
The App uses your phone's precise location to show your position and speed on the map, and to record a GPS track while you are logging a trip. Location is used only while the App is open and in use. The App never accesses your location in the background. You can decline location permission; features that depend on location (the map position, GPS speed and trip tracks) will then be unavailable.
Bluetooth
The App uses Bluetooth to connect to your M-10 or U-2 motor controller and your battery. It reads operating data from these devices, such as speed, RPM, voltage, current, temperatures, battery charge, cell voltages, fault codes and device details (model, serial number, firmware version). This data is displayed in the App and, if you start logging, saved on your phone.
Trip logs
When you start logging, the App saves the device data and your GPS track to files on your phone (CSV and KML files). These logs stay on your phone. We do not receive them.
Notifications
While logging is active, the App shows a notification so you know it is still recording. No information is collected through notifications.
2. INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT
- We do not require you to create an account or sign in.
- We do not use analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services.
- We do not upload your location, device data or logs to our servers.
- We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
3. MAPS (MAPBOX)
The maps in the App are provided by Mapbox, Inc. To display the map, the App loads map imagery from Mapbox's servers. When it does, Mapbox receives information needed to deliver the map, such as the area being viewed and your device's IP address. The Mapbox software built into the App may also send Mapbox anonymous usage and location information to help improve its maps and services.
You can turn off this Mapbox data collection at any time: tap the information (ⓘ) button next to the Mapbox logo on any map in the App and choose the telemetry setting.

4. SHARING YOUR LOGS
You can share a trip log from the App using your phone's standard share feature (for example, by email or a messaging app). A log is only shared when you choose to share it, and only with the app or person you select. Once shared, it is handled by that recipient and their service, not by us.
On Android, logs are also stored in the App's own folder on your phone's storage, so they can be copied to a computer over USB.
5. KEEPING AND DELETING YOUR DATA
Logs remain on your phone until you delete them. The App never deletes them automatically. You can delete logs at any time from the App's log browser. Uninstalling the App removes the logs stored in its folders.

6. CHILDREN
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
7. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted in the App's release notes.
